Pocess Engineering and Design

With a growing focus in today¡¯s world on the need for environmental protection
and security, municipalities have come under increasing pressure to not only ensure,
but guarantee high quality treatment of both water and wastewater.
Regulatory compliance is mandatory and with failure, can lead to serious consequences.
At CH2MBR Water Technologies Ltd, basic and detail works are:

1. Basic Engineering and Design
·  Project Definition
·  Describe the main elements and components involved in the project planning,
project management, and project administration for the design, engineering,
construction, start-up and operation of a wastewater treatment plant.
·  Select the most suitable and cost-effective water and wastewater
treatment processes (among the most widely applied anaerobic, aerobic, land-based and on-site systems)
to treat certain wastewater stream given its composition
and characteristics and taking into account the required effluent standards.
·  Preliminary design of a wastewater treatment system
including the hydraulic profile and process flow-diagram (PFD).
·  Plant Layout (Basic)
·  Water Balances and Simulations
·  Piping System Material (Basic)
·  Prepare budget, preliminary (bid) cost estimates including bill of materials, equipment, and controls
·  Prepare formal proposals for submittal to potential clients
·  Develop and present technical presentations/papers on in-house projects
to promote Company and wastewater technologies at conferences and clients meetings.
2. Detail Engineering and Design
·  Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID)
·  Plant Layout (Final)
·  Process Equipment Selection (pumps, valves, membranes, blowers, screens, instrumentation, and others)
·  Piping System Material (Final)
·  General Piping Arrangement Drawings
·  Support Plans and Drawings
·  Bill of Materials (BOM)
·  Isometric and As-Built Drawings
·  Identify and estimate the construction, operational and maintenance costs of a wastewater treatment plant
·  Prepare budget, final (bid) cost estimates including bill of materials, equipment, and controls
·  Provide expertise during start-up, commissioning and/or for troubleshooting at existing plants.
·  Maintain contact with current installations to obtain performance,
operation and maintenance data and provide operational assistance as requested.
·  Continuous investigation into improving design of current equipment
and treatment processes, and development or acquisition of new equipment
or processes to complement existing portfolio.
·  Maintain an excellent working knowledge of state, provincial and federal regulations, as well as current design processes.
